CELEBRATION OF HANDLOOM WEEK FROM 21ST TO 27TH DECEMBER 2009
It has been decided to celebrate the period from 21st to 27th December as Handloom Week through out the state. All out effort are being made to involve large number of weavers in the programmes like awareness camp, Special Expo, Mega Health Camps etc.The programme for celebration of Handloom Week are as follows :

CELEBRATION OF HANDLOOM WEEK
As a part of the celebration of the Handloom Week, an awareness camp was organized for the weavers of Maniabandha Handloom cluster on 21st December 2009. Representatives of different organizations like Weavers cooperatives, Handloom associations and Women SHGs were invited to participate in the awareness programme. The programme was inaugurated by the Assistant Director of Textiles, Athagarh by lighting of Lamp along with representatives of weavers. Information about different schemes were given to the weavers who were requested to spread the message among fellow members. The different schemes that were discussed in the programme are

- Workshed
- SEP
- Raw Material Bank
- Design Intervention
- TRIPTY Etc.
There was full cooperation and active participation among the weavers during the camp.
